The Sleepwalker: Court Mystery

A courtroom mystery set in Massachusetts in 1972. Your client confessed to a murder, and he can't remember any of it.

The case

You play Rowan Vale, a defense lawyer. Your client, Jonah Medeiros, woke up in a sleep clinic with a dead scientist's blood on his hands. He confessed straight away. He also says he doesn't remember doing it, and you're the one who has to work out what that means.

The story runs over a prologue and eight chapters. On most days you get a map of the town and a clock that keeps moving. You decide where to go and who to ring from whichever phone is nearest. Some things have to wait until tomorrow. In court, people pass you notes on paper slips while the witnesses are still talking.

What you find out, and what you miss, changes how the trial goes. There are 16 endings, and one playthrough takes two to three hours.

Now and then an old court stenographer tells part of the story over a black screen. The writing is kept simple on purpose, so it's easy to follow even if English isn't your first language.

Before you download

Is it free?

The prologue and the first three chapters are. Each later chapter opens after a couple of short ads, or one purchase unlocks the whole case and removes the ads. No subscription, no timers.

Is it a detective game?

Partly. You're a defense lawyer, not a detective, but a lot of the game is investigating: going round the town, questioning witnesses and pinning evidence to your board. The rest happens in court.

Is it voiced?

Yes, every character, plus the stenographer who narrates.

How long is it?

Two to three hours for one playthrough. There are 16 endings, and you can replay any chapter you've already finished.

Who is it for?

Players aged 16 and over. The story deals with murder, grief and suicide.
